Hi, I've been doing a lot of research on specific landlords and searching old records. Jill Dale's County Mayo Beginnings web site has information about landlords and she is adding information as she researches it. I was interested in Domvile and she has a link to the National Library of Ireland for the "Domvile Papers." So, I just looked up the Earl of Arran on the same web site and here is what I got: http://sources.nli.ie/Search/Results?lookfor=earl%20of%20arran&type=AllFields The search fields/narrowing items on the right hand side are really cool as you can sort the information by people, place, and/or time period. In case the above link doesn't translate well, here is the home page for the NLI: http://sources.nli.ie/About/Contents Also, I've been researching 'online' resources on these topics and there are several 'digital libraries' who have posted books on landlords, etc., that are hard to find. Sometimes you can download the whole book for free, sometimes you have to be a member to do so. You can also just download a page or range of pages as a pdf. I hope this information is helpful. Thanks, Steph ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] on behalf of [email protected] [[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, January 07, 2012 11:11 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [IRL-MAYO] Earl of Arran records This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. It is linked to the BOOTH-GORE family. You might GOOGLE the Irish line and research where records if they still exist might be. There appears to be no link to the English Creation family of Earl of Arron. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
