Hi I did some lookups for a man that was looking for people going by the name of Twig/g in Crossmolina parish several years ago. I couldn’t find anyone by that name in the Catholic register so I asked it they went by a variant spelling. He then sent me the Togher spelling and I did find some under that spelling. Not sure when the spelling changed but it did prove useful to include the variant spellings. Maybe you’ll get better results using Twig?
