Yes, I have no doubt that this is the reason my folks came over 1828-1832 (Dukelow's in County Cork) and 1842 (O'Malley's in Mayo)..my Wiggins came much earlier, before 1807. It was a disaster, and there seems to have been no care by England (who I also have ancestors from)...politics/inhumanity doesn't seem to have changed much, has it?? Still happening...
