One thing I learned as a volunteer is to count on census data being "off". 1. The death date of 1936 throws me. Could he have lived to be 100? I have Thomas' birth date as between 1833 and 1846. 2. The marriage date of 1871 from the NY Census seems off too, since I have him with Mariah Durkin as far back as 1860 in PA. 3. The 1860 and 1870 census in PA shows Mariah born in Ireland, then the 1900 NY censuses show Mariah as being born in New York to parents born in Ireland, and in 1910 being born in New York to {I can't make out what it says} Pu? English parents. I would love to send you scans of the census pages I am working from. I still think we are on to something because 4. the Thomas and Mariah listed as parents of Mary Ann (1861) in the 1860 & 1870 census disappear from Pennsylvania records in 1880, and the 1890 census is lost, then in 1900 a Thomas and Mariah Durkin with the same birth dates appear in Niagara Falls. 5.
