It's a good idea to try to find out a more detailed location for your family in Co. Mayo - ideally the townland, town or parish, so you can check what records are available. Spelling of surnames varied quite a bit - O'Boyle could appear with or without the O' prefix, and you may find Barrot listed as Barrett.
