Many of the transcribed records from the old ships records and other sources are frequently misspelled. For instance I seen Kennards and the like that could well be Kenward and Spencer spelled as Spincer and so on. The 20 year old Spencer Kenward in the 1901 Irish Census was in the British Army barracks in Dublin was Church of England whereas Irish Protestants would have been Church of Ireland or Presbyterian I doubt if he's your Spencer but can't rule it out. Incidentally, one source of information is newspaper archives in Ireland, England and America especially from small towns where every birth, marriage and death is a big event. I'll take another look at things tomorrow when my head is clear. - John Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
