Mayo about 1849. They may have been born in the 1820's. Both were married but we do not know the wives names they may have migrated with children. Their father was Bryan McHugh and their mother was Sail(Sara) O Malley who died young; Bryan remarried but had no further children. Bryan was a poet and two songs have survived in the Irish language Sail Og Rua (Young red Haired Sara) a lament for his first wife. the other a lament for Patrick his first born son who had emigrated. They may have gone to Canada where some of their neighbours who emigrated at that time got farms in Ontario. There is also a report that they may have to Pennyslyvania. The spelling of the name McHugh could have changed. There was Bryan McHugh in the Tithes list of 1832 for Barnastang Upper. In the Griffith vaulation of 1852 Barnastang Upper and Lower was divided into Banastang and Cashel but ther was no Bryan McHugh Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
