Mayo on the Sligo Border between Aclare and Swinford (Knockbrack, Stonepark and Cladagh). If any know of Have these please post Here I do know from Another kind Lady the Killasser Townland abuts Co. Sligo's Knockbrack and this is precisely the area I am attempting to find ANY records (1760-present day). I do know from my extensive Sligo research many records, or record fragments DO exist (when most people would tell you nothing exists) such a Flax Growers, Spinning Wheel scheme, The most important would be (private persons) Lease and Rent registers from the mid-1800s onward - I am not sure of the NAMESS of large "Landowner class" in Co. Mayo (before the Land Leauge and Land Reform & Aggitation starting 1878 -- but surely large amounts of records exist - HAS ANYONE COPIED OR SCANNED THESE? COULD YOU POST THEM OR SEND THEM (I would be happy to send PRE-PAID envelope to you to send them to me at no cost to your)... The intent is to put them online for all to use. Please post Here any information, leads or ANYTHING (this is what the Message Boards are for). Would like to know of any "elders" remaining in these border areas (that have sharp memories of these "olden" days, and perhaps records in the Libraries so I can make a list to retrieve them). Cheers, Murph_ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
