He moved to Great Yarmouth by 1813, where he joined the army. He was a private who went to New South Wales with his wife Ann. They had William 1820 (3XGGF), and Elizabeth 1818. They returned to Great Yarmouth and had at least 1 more son George in 1827. John died in Yarmouth 1833. William stayed in Yarmouth, and George went to Australia where (I think) he was an opal miner in Queensland. He died in Adelaide, South Australia. I have found http://www.goldenlangan.com. Chris has a top of the line Patrick PURCELL b1799. I am hoping to find that Patrick is a sibling or a cousin of my John. I am new to Irish research, but I am an expereinced researcher.
