You are correct that he was Head of Cleveland City Council, became a congressman. He was west side Irish. Also there are other STANTON in Cleve. with origins in the Clew Bay islands and shore townlands. The surname BARRY, SWEENEY, SAMMON are linked to them in Mayo and after they all came out in Cleveland. CORLEY is also a west side Irish name. They had a dance studio in the 1940s & 1950s.
