In Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, in the 1860s, entries included parents as well as witnesses, and townlands for all (a printed form). In Gort, Co. Galway, also 1860s, just witnesses, as well as townland for bride and groom. In Ballygar, Co. Galway, 1850s, and Islandeady, Co. Mayo, 1840s, just witnesses, no townlands. I suspect the more rural parishes were less likely to use printed forms and thus included less information. Diane Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
