CONNOLLY, born Aug. 15, 1919, in Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo, Ireland, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Immaculate Mary Home, Philadelphia. "He and his beloved wife, Helen, (deceased, Sept. of 2000), raised their children in the Bensalem home they shared for 52 years. Their final years together were spent in Morrisville. "Tom is survived by his children, Eileen M. Walker and Harold Phillips of Homestead, Fla., Mary Ellen and Joseph F. Schuler of Langhorne, Sr. Helene Thomas, I.H.M. of Bensalem, Anne Connolly, R.S.M., Missioner in Bolivia, John T. 'Jack' Connolly and Jerry McManus, of Dennisville, N.J., and Pat and Lou Lindemuth of Morrisville. "PopPop Connolly is also survived by his grandchildren, Craig and Melissa Walker, Rosemarie Schuler, Joseph A. and Diane Schuler, Thomas R. and Dana Schuler, Anne Marie and Jane Jaxon, and Daniel Lindemuth; and by his great-grandchildren, Zachary Walker, and Mackenzie, Nicole, Olivia, Joseph, Cameron, Casey, and Trent Schuler. "Tom's sister, Nancy Gregory, survives him and resides in Potomac, Md. "Tom served in the U.S. Army from December, 1943 to April, 1946, attending and later teaching at the Ordnance Schools in Atlanta, Ga., and Aberdeen, Md. "His career in the aircraft industry began in factories that built and tested military planes and helicopters, and extended into the years of Project Gemini at General Electric. He worked in real estate, and formally retired in 1978 from Sears Roebuck & Co. His time away from work was devoted to providing a wonderful home for his wife and children. "Family, friends, and neighbors from the parishes of St. Charles and Our Lady of Fatima knew the Connolly home and grove as a fun destination for picnics, sports, and all kinds of motorized recreational vehicles. "His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m Friday, Jan. 25, at Our Lady of Grace Church, Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, PA 19047. "Relatives and friends will be received between the hours of 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at James O. Bradley Funeral Home, 260 Bellevue Avenue, Penndel 19047. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. "The family would prefer Mass Cards or donations to either the Sisters of I.H.M., c/o Sister Lorraine McGrew, Villa Maria House of Studies, 1140 King Road, Immaculata, PA 19345 or to the Sisters of Mercy, Attn.: Sister Melanie Weyand, 515 Montgomery Avenue, Merion Station, PA 19066."
