Please bear with me however ,as I have just started out on the family history trail and don't really know where to start or how to access data from IRELAND . Could you possibly point me in the right direction ? ----ANY advice would be most welcome . I am looking for anything relating to the names CREAN ,DURCAN ,MADDEN ,PADDEN and GILLESPIE in or around BALLINA ,CO .MAYO. My mother ,ELIZABETH DURCAN and my father PATRICK CREAN were both born in BREAFFY .BALLINA .CO.MAYO in 1913 and 1914 respectively and were married in ST.MUREDECH'S CATHEDRAL ,BALLINA .09-11-1933. My PATERNAL grandparents were MARTIN CREAN and ELIZABETH GILLESPIE. My MATERNAL grand parents were ANTHONY DURCAN and MARGARET PADDEN ------ALL BORN ,I GUESS AROUND 1885-1890. I also have some knowledge of a GREAT-AUNT - BEATRICE MADDEN ,(born 1888) who emigrated to the U.S.A. -(NEW YORK ) IN 1924. Could you please advise me how best to proceed ? For example , How do I access any census records available and which sites are the most helpful ,(and of course ,cost -effective, ) for the info .I need. ? Many thanks and kind regards , Bernadette.
