I have used the Mayo Family History Center online data bases to obtain a number of baptism and birth records. I have a problem with their Death Record database and my inquiries to the North Mayo Centre has not provided any sufficient help. Deaths are listed by districts such as Foxford, Kilmoremoy, Lowpark, Killala, Bangor, etc. I know that Ballina was the main registration district for recording records. Are these other names subsets of the Ballina district? Could you provide me with any information as to what places comprise the Ballina registration district? My ancestors were all from the Attymass area, namely Carrowdoogan, Cartron, and others. A further example of my quest is that I am looking for the Death Record of James Loftus who died about 1890. The North Mayo database lists five possible James Loftus deaths between 1882 and 1887. Three were from the Kilmoremoy district, one from Lowpark and one from Foxford. When his daughter Bridget Loftus married Martin Barrett in 1869 her birthplace was Kregella. Martin was from Cartron. Thank you for any help you can provide.
