    3. I think that is why it makes such an impression on one. The brown earth, the occasional yellow from some gorst, a little bit of green here and there, To use a quote of Leon Uris from his book of Irish photography, "An awful beauty". When we go over, if we have people with us who have never been to Ireland or maybe just Mayo, we make the drive from Louisburgh and relate the story. Impressive as it is with the story, I doubt no one ever forgets what happened.
