I think your Mary Gaughan is a sibling of several other Gaughans who lived in North Vernon, namely a Thomas b.ca.1835, Anthony born ca.1830, possibly others. I can't prove they'e sons of James Gaughan (ca.1809-1894) of North Vernon but they might be. All of them are linked directly or indirectly to Doohoma, County mayo where my own Conway family came from to North Vernon in 1860. I'd like to exchange information if you are intersted.
