The Irish way of spelling killeen is cillin (accent on the last I amking it an ee sound). In Irish Cill means chapel or settlement...I wonder if the chapel morphed into church?? My grandparents and great uncles are buried in the Friary graveyard in Ballyhaunis (eastern side of town). I had a relative John Killeen (great uncle ) emigrate in the early 1900's to Cleveland ( I've been there with work)but don't know if he had family. What I do know is my father almost emigrated to the US because of his uncle John (who had a job lined up for him ) many years ago..if he had I would have been born in the uS! Anyway good to hear from you and as they say in Ireland Slan go foil! Best wishes David Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
