They are very helpful - something to be aware of is that the birth dates may vary from the official records. This is because families had 6 weeks to register the birth of their babies and a lot of the women folk were left to tend the farms and bring up the children on their own whilst the men travelled to England for work. If you have seen the mountain you would understand why so may children from Glan have 2 birthdays! I have just returned from Ireland - had I known before I had gone I would have gladly gone to Ballina to look up the records for you. I will see what I can do from this end... Speak soon Sharon.
