    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: 6dug3 Surnames: Nash -Erris, Mullet, Colonists. Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.may.general/7862.3.4.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Further to the various posts,I have a few questions. Could you tell me Anthony's mother's maiden name? When did Arthur (Anthony's father)Nash die? Did Anthony have Willie from his first marriage? What did Anthony die of in 1843? It's interesting to read similar names for both Anthony's and Isabella's sons. Isabella has only 1 daughter and 7 sons; 5 survived; the penultimate son: Nash being my 2x great grandfather. In January 1844, Isabella's second son Edward, dies aged 14 years. (Her first born son Arthur Tasden Short died aged 10 months in March 1828). There are no surviving records for births/marriages/deaths for the Church of Ireland from that area, at that time at all, those being destroyed in the Four Courts Fire in Dublin. The graves of the 2 sons and Henry (their father who died of typhus)are in the C.of I. churchyard in Ballina. I'm not sure that there would be a death record in the GRO in Dublin for Henry; (Isabella's husband) as civil registration did not begin until 1845 for non-Catholics and 1864 for Catholics. Isabella's death record in the GRO (general records office) states that she was living in Ballina at the time and Arthur, her youngest son was present at death. Apparently he died in the 1920's a Catholic, I've yet to research that, there are so many things I've to research, including the wills when I next go to Dublin! Do you know if there was there any correspondence at all between Anthony and Isabella or between their children? Do you know where the Nash's came from in England? I'm trying to research that and the name of the minister; Rev John Tollett, who came over with them. Regarding the land valuation in Griffith's I'm not sure what staus is meant by "In Chancery".When Isabella died, her eldest surviving son, Charles Frederick inherited the land etc.. but he was recorded in the 1870's as having 300 acres, which is not much compared to the amount Isabella had stated in her marriage settlement deed of nearly 1200 acres in 1825. Please let me know if you can answer any of the above, I look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards, 6dug3. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
