Thanks, Oceanstrands. I did review the eastmayo.org site before but I'm going back through and looking at each line now in detail rather than just searching (cntl F) for Grennan, and I've found another sibling: Pat baptised 1859 Dec 18. I'm leaning towards James' father being Patrick Grennan and his brother being Pat Jr. on the Griffith's now, but I'm also going through the eastmayo site to try to recreate the other Grennan family groups to try to rule them out, possibly by them living or moving to other townlands. I want to thank you for all your help - I honestly never thought I would be able to know so much about my Irish ancestors! Rachel ----------------- There are several Grennan entries in the local parish records which have been transcribed and listed on the East Mayo website: http://eastmayo.org/Kilmovee_Baptisms_1854_1910_and_1881_1913.htm Pat and John Grennan (Grunnin) are listed in the Tithe Applotments in Cloonrow and Urlaur (Orlaur)in 1825: http://www.connorsgenealogy.net/Mayo/KilmoveeParishTithes.htm
