Since i posted the message ,i went to Ballhaunis in June last year ,there were no relatives of the amediate family left . What we did find were neibours of the family on their farms .but we had a fantastic time found out from the church when my g/grandfather died he was born about 1865 . Ialso found out from a irish web site that when the irish emmigrated they often changed their surnames it gave some examples Killeen surname was often changed to Churchill ,this really broke down my brick wall ,because this is what John Killeen did . He married my g/grandmother in 1891 in Rugley Staffordshire England ,their first son was born out of wedlock with the surname Killeen ,their second chid Sabina was given the surname Churchill .To cut along story short ,Sabina ended up in the US iam now intouch with one of her grandchildren in California iam still no wiser as to what became of my grandfather in the US but iam hoping other grandchildren of Sabina might know something ,he had a brother also in the US so hopefully they may know something of his family as well . We could be related i have,nt gone down John Killeen,s family ,What i do know is in the 1911 irish cencus the farm in Ballyhaunis was being run by Sabina Killeen (John Killeen,n mother ) and his brother Bernard . The Irish are very hard to follow because a fire in 1922 destroyed all the documents ,that is why they released the 1911 cencus early . Good Luck Jean Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
