You might want to look at the microfilms of those parish records. http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/counties/rcmaps/mayorc.htm Most of the parish records don't go back far enough for baptismal information for those early emigrants to the US but you may find some marriage records for siblings who stayed. I thought they must have gone in through Canada but never found any ships passenger records in Canada that survived and included them. It was much cheaper to emigrate through Canada in the early years of emigration. Several of them ended up at least initially in upstate New York and Vermont in the border areas of each. Then later generations seemed to go on to mill and factory areas in New York State and over into Massachusetts. I went over to research their records over there in each of those places which is when I discovered the Hastings/Hostings/Hosty surnames. Lots of connections over there to Mayo people too!
