The nine daughters of Thomas Kelly and Maria McManus of Derrynalecka, Co. Mayo, Ireland! My family still own the farm there. It appears that 8 of the daughters left for America along with Thomas - Annie came back to collect him. Only Margaret Kelly stayed behind in Derrynalecka (which is near Kilkelly). Margaret married John McCann (my Great Grandparents) from Derryronan. As the only one left in Ireland, Margaret and John inherited the farm and it has passed into the McCann family. We know that Nora married a Michael McMahon and had a daughter Anastasia, but other than this we have no knowledge of the 8 Kelly sisters in the United States. I would be very interested to learn more from the American side and answer any questions about Derrynalecka and the family in Ireland.
