    1. [IRL-MAYO] Stanton's of Westport

    3. Can anybody from the Westport area help me please. My great grandmother Sarah Stanton and her parents Martin and Elleanor Stanton are shown on the 1841 census (in Liverpool) as having been born in Westport. I am anxious to find the exact date of birth for Sarah as she was said to be a minor when she married in 1845 thus making her census age of 17 incorrect. Is it at all possible to obtain her birth/baptism details from local churches. Kind Regards, Ray, Wirral/ Liverpool

Kind Regards, Ray, Wirral/ Liverpool Hi Ray, looking at the 1841 Census for Liverpool, the Stanton name has been transcribed as Staunton, with Sarah being transcribed as Seragh. The I took a look at the 1851 Census and found a Joseph Staunton age 27yrs bc 1824, Ballyraggat, Ireland. Listed as an Immigrant, living in a Boarding House in Liverpool. Could this be Sarah's Brother from the 1841 Census??.  Do you know  who the other Siblings married, looking at later Census' could give a clue as to where in Ireland they were born.....just a thought.....Meg   ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to IRL-MAYO-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
