That part of it is free. You only pay if you want to see a specific record and for that you need to buy credits using your credit card. No other "cards" are involved. There is no other way of using their service. You can still get a great deal out of their site without paying, like looking for a marriage and entering both parties' names. You can get a possible match if both appear same year, same parish. If you can't get both names that way, then you don't have a match. It takes a bit of trial and error to get the best out of it. I certainly wouldn't bother getting civil records from them. Use the LDS for Civil Registration: births 1864- 1880, 1900-1913,1930-55. marriages 1845 (Non-RC)-1870, marriages (RC) 1864-70 deaths 1864-70 (These are the actual certs. not just indexes) Find births on the IGI/familysearch website -it almost always gives you the film number. Then order the film at your local LDS. Where are you located? If London, they have almost all the available Irish films in stock. Other centers with a large Irish population may do the same. LDS Films are £2.70 and you see the original; records from IFHF are 5 euro, but it's not the original record, just the details from the original- see SAMPLES on their website Or you can get all the certs from Ireland GRO. _www.groireland.ie_ (http://www.groireland.ie) yes, it makes it easier if you have the Volume/page number details, but not necessary as you have all the details I sent you. About 8 euro each now, not sure, they keep going up. If you insist on this option, then make sure you ask for a photocopy of the original, you do not want a new certificate. I don't know why you are having trouble downloading flash-player . It's the simplest download possible, assuming you are using XP You don't have to DO anything and it only takes seconds. Try again and see what happens, or what the error message is.
