Ballysakeery and Kilmoremoy are two different civil parishes. The civil parishes were generally the same as the Church of Ireland (Anglican) parishes and had different boundaries than the Roman Catholic parishes. Mary Ann in all probability is one person whose property is in both civil parishes. Here's the civil parish map for County Mayo, click on each civil parish to find the names of the towns and townlands in each: http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/civilparish/index.cfm?fuseaction=GetMap&CityCounty=Mayo Her location i.e. townland in each entry is called the Tideway of the River Moy. The River Moy is a famous fishing location in County Mayo Here's some information about the River Moy: http://www.northwestfisheries.ie/Moy/river_moy_system.htm You'll see Thomasine Little in the 1901 Mayo census following is a fishery proprietor. There are no surviving census records before 1901. Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864 with Protestant marriages beginning in 1845. Church parish records would be the possible source for additional family information if they survive for the years you need. You can contact the Church of Ireland (Anglican) Representative Church Body in Dublin to find out if the church parish records survive for the years you need and how they might be accessed: http://www.ireland.anglican.org/index.php?do=information&id=63 Contact information is included in that link. Staff is very prompt responding to queries. However beginning tomorrow there is a long holiday weekend in Ireland including Friday and Monday so staff won't be there. The 1901 County Mayo census doesn't include any Littles in Ballysakeery civil parish. It includes the following Littles, one of whom lives in Kilmoremoy civil parish and is named Thomasine: Townland Parish Barony County Description Head of household Surname Head of household Given Head of household Occupation Other occupants Claremorris T./Chapel St. Kilcolman Clanmorris Mayo Household Little James(65) farm labourer Margaret(60) wife-Martin Burke(60) boarder/blacksmith Townplots West Killala Tirawley Mayo Household Little Susanna(68) landed proprietress/widow Francis(37)-Susan(35)-Charlotte(33)-James R.(31)-all not married-Louisa Kirkwood(73) sister/landed proprietress/not married Knocknalyre or Downhill Kilmoremoy Tireragh Mayo Household Little Thomasine(73) fishery?
