Hello Listers, I'm hoping some one on the list can help me with information and advice. I am researching my ancestor James Feiney bn approx 1826 somewhre in Ireland ! James migrated to Whitby in Yorkshire in around 1845 where in 1847 he married Elizabeth Dillon bn Sligo. James and Elizabeth  then migrated to South Africa for a short period and then on to New Zealand where they settled with their family. James died in 1872 in Thames NZ as a result of a mining accident. Until recently we have had no clues to James's birthplace but have now discovered a newspaper report about his death where his wifw is quoted as saying that he was "a native of Castlemain, County Mayo" I have been unable to find a Castlemain in Mayo ! Can anyone on the list enlighten me ? Does anyone have any information on Feiney's in Mayo ? All the best Julie Christchurch New Zealand
