Surname Name Relation Status Age Occupation Born Hagan Mary Head Widow 50 Housekeeper Ireland Hagan Michael Son unmarr 20 Ag Labourer " Hagan Eleanor Dau " 16 Washerwoman " Hagan John Son " 17 Labourer " Hunt Mary Lodger Widow 45 Stay Maker " Hunt John son unmarr 18 Labourer " Hunt Michael son 12 " Hunt Ann dau 10 " Hunt Daniel son 8 " Hunt Mary dau unmarr 20 StayMaker " Iknow the age is wrong for your Michael - but I have found that my Irish ancestors were amazingly casual about the ages they put on census returns - sometimes up to 10 years out from one census to the next. The 1861 census has: at Fawcett Street, New Cross Manchester Hunt Mary Head widow 56 Housekeeper Ireland Hunt Michael son unmarr 20 Cotton Winder " Hunt Ann dau " 18 Cotton Piecer " which may be the same family (see what I mean about ages?) If it is, then the absence of John Hunt is explained by him having moved to Leeds and married Ellen Flynn (on census in Leeds). Daniel Hunt may also have gone to Leeds - can't find him on census but a newspaper report in Leeds in 1869 has a Daniel Hunt age 27 dying in an accident while working on the railways. Hope some of this may be helpful to someone! Sue. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
