Even though your immediate family left Ireland between 1841-1851 , usually several family members remained in Ireland. The Griffith's Valuation is helpful in locating other family members and also the 1901 Census is very helpful. When I read the spelling of your name I immediately thought of the County Mayo name of Rochford. Checking the 1901 Census all the Rochfords are listed as such but there are three that have a variation of the name Rotchford which would be your variation with a slight change. All Rotchfords were located in the Parish of Ballynahaglish, Baron of Tirawley. John Rochford/Rotchford, 34 - Townland of Corraveggan West Jane Rochford/Rotchford, 80 - Townland of Corraveggan West John Rochford/Rotchford, 63- Townland of Knockmore http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/1901census/ 1901 Census - a fantastic and very helpful site created by Roger McDonnell Ratchford is the County Wexford version of Rochford. If you do not know the location of your family I would start with the townlands where the three Rochford/Rotchfords are found in the 1901 Census.
