Mayo census and didn't find any McDonough families in Westport. I didn't find any families with Anthony as the head of household either. You can search the census at: http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/1901census/census.shtml You could have the Ireland General Register Office search for the civil birth cert: http://www.groireland.ie You could look in the 1901 and 1911 England census records to see if family members are there. Also check Patrick's obituary in England to see if it confirms where he was born in Ireland. Contact the church where he was married and see if there;s a copy of his Irish baptismal cert there or confirmation of his baptism in Ireland -- may include his parish of birth.
