Request a search of the civil birth records for his birth record, form is available on the General Register Office website: http://www.groireland.ie If none, then look for his US naturalisation records and his US church marriage record. Each one may include where he was born in Ireland. With that birth location you'd then need to search for the baptismal record in the local parish in Ireland where he was born.
