Hi Marge, It cost us around $ 150 to get the complete data on my wife's family back to her great grandfather. My wife knew her heritage back to her grandfather, and basically very little of that! The Mayo heritage centers " are nothing more than computers, in lieu of paper ", run by someone with computer knowledge and not available for search by an individual. As far as I could ascertain, once the computer generates possibilities of heritage the data is reviewed by the elders who are reportedly knowledgable about each specific family. Once cultivated, all of this data is written up in a pamphlet format with hard data, fololowed by softer data, and then data of which everyone can not differentiate, but yet is still reported to you for your assessment. Tuscon is a mile or two away from CO Mayo, " a heritage center, is a heritage center " and an income maker for each locale's economy. No " casual visitor " will ever have the capability of touching the records because of the reckless nature, and destructive capability of someone who feels the " page " should go home with him / her. Highly recommend writing to either of the Mayo Centers asking about your " families of interest ", and you will receive an answer pertaining to what they may be capable of providing for what cost. You may be sure, based upon your knowledge about each group, to become enlightened by what a study might do for=2 0your interest in your family, especially after 15 years of thinking about them. Sent with respect for the almighty dollar, but you can't take it with you anyway. With respect for your interests ..... If so, what kinds of records are they? Also, where would I find burial records for cemeteries around Aghamore? After researching my family for over 15 years now, I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a complete genealogy report from the South Mayo heritage center, but there are specific things I'm interested in. Any help appreciated.
