Hi, To catch all the postings on the subject, I belong to both 'Mayo' mailing lists. A short time ago I posted a question to both lists. One list published the posting immediately, the other took a few days to reject it on two technical points, neither of which has prevented my postings on any of the other lists I belong to. This irritated me and led me to compare the two lists. To anyone with a minimum of familiarity with Rootsweb mailing lists, the name of one 'Mayo' list shows that the subject is the Irish county. The name of the other could easily be mistaken as being for the surname 'Mayo'. One list is vibrantly active while the other is virtually dormant (see the figures on the lists respective homepages under 'browse the archives). With both lists now in their ninth year, any political/personality clash which might have led to one list being set up as a rival to the other should by now be irrelevant, so I'm posting this request to both lists and both administrators. List administrators, please get together and arrange a merger or the closure of one list. Having all 'Mayo' information on one site can only be helpful. Thanks, Dom O'Malley.
