I hadn't seen Thomas on Griffith's so that's some new info, providing it's the right Thomas. I only know one other fact about him; he had some involvement in the unsuccessful Fenian revolt that took place in 1867, so he was definitely alive then. I don't know any details. I've just gone through my paperwork again to find other clues, and I see that when Bridget Martyn (Rushe) died on 24 May 1879, the informant on her death cert was a Thomas Martyn who was present at her death. He just leaves 'his mark X' so he must have been illiterate and somebody else has signed his name for him. That may be a different Thomas, perhaps a brother but it's very possible it was her and Kate's father. I will look into the revised valuations - never done that so not sure what's involved. I could order the death cert for that Catherine also - it's well worth a try! Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
