I saw the note with SYNON and recognized it. I am desc from Bridget FOY, dau of Patrick FOY & Catherine MANLEY. I am looking for info about FOY, FORD, MANLEY & MEARS in Ireland. Although mine were in Chicago, many fr Co Mayo went to PA, a few to NY. In Ireland they lived in Co Mayo & Sligo (my family). The county line has changed over the years, so there is sommetimes confusion. I am also looking for towns where they lived. Some were in Ballina. Thanks to a previous post here, I have recently located & joined a Mayo Genealogy Group Facebook page. Just like here I found a community of very helpful members who voluntarily share some of their finds & advice with members. One advantage I found joining this FB page is that members will often post files or links that I would not have found on my own. Another advantage to joining this group is that I have been able to provide & receive almost immediate feedback on my posts. My 2nd gr-grandfather Patrick lived in Castletown (which is quite small, btw) and his marriage record lists his father as Laurence. Griffith's also lists a Francis Flynn in Castletown. I suspect he is a relative as well. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My great grandmother's name was Anastasia Molloy. She was born around 1871, and arrived in the US, I believe, around 1890. I don't have any info of her family in Ireland. Does that name come up anywhere in your tree? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Mathew son of Mathew and Mary Heaney Prenddergast died 7/11/1966 at age 69. The Catholic Cemeteries in the Cincinnati area are on line now. There is a separate web site for the old St. Joseph cemetery. The new is called the "Irish" one. My Irish grandparents are buried there. My grandmother is on the Rapid Run Road side. The son of Matthew and Mary is on the opposite side (Foley Road) side. I hope this helps. You may already have this information since the last post I read from you is from 2010. M. They immigrated to Scranton, PA (where the name was changed to Haggerty) after 1860 but before 1870, so probably too far back for us to make any connections.
