Anyone know where I can find these online? I'm of Scot descent and love Scotland's People. Is there a site like that for Ireland's People? There is a record of a Thomas Conway to Catherine Walsh. However, I believe this shouldbe Conroy. I have found baptisms for their children (Conroy) in Mace Middle and Knockatober and Rockfield. My great grandmother was Mary Conroy born in Mace Middle in 1865. She married Thomas Johnston in Stoke on Trent. Thomas Johnston also came from Mayo and I have found a birth in Carrowbeg in 1864. Any information would be welcome. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: johnloughney1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.may.general/8737/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi all, I have a Margaret Gibbons (b about 1826) to Thomas Gibbons and Jennie (Mary Jane) Connelly, from her death certificate. Thomas and Mary were born about 1800 in Mayo, IRE (from PA census reports). Margaret married John McNally and had two children in Ireland - Bridget McNally about 1846, Mary Jane McNally about 1951. My great grandmother, Ellen McNally was born in Pennsylvania. John McNally died before 1858 in PA (no record available) as Margaret remarried in Scranton in 1858. I've been reading through the available records, which are pretty much only the tithes, and suspect that the Gibbons lived in Lettermaghera, Connolleys & McNallys lived in Shrafarna. Anyone have any suggestions on other records that I could search? I don't believe that the Burrishoole parish records are available that far back. I have been trying to trace the brothers that may have gone to USA but not certain... great news if this is Patrick... I know how difficult it will be finding the Kelly's!!.. been searching 15 years for my great grandmother.. been to Westport and Dublin and then found it on line last Friday!! I believe that John the father got remarried after Bridget died and that is why the children left home and Catherine and Annie came to England.. I only have snippets from what I have heard as we were brought up in an Irish community and it is what people have told me.. if you find anything else let me know thanks.. Patrick Kelly married Mary Loftus, they both lived in Roskeen. Their son, John Kelly of Roskeen, married Bridget McDonell of Lettermaghera on March 14, 1889. Witnesses were John Moran of Roskeen and Mary Malley of Murrevagh. That is the only marriage of a Kelly from Roskeen in Masterson's County Mayo Marriage book. I suspect from the names of John's children that you are related to my Kelly's of Rosturk, so your family is going to be difficult to trace, all the Kellys had large families and all used the traditional Irish naming method.
