Author: DianeCulhane Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.may.general/7888.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The 1901 Mayo census on the Leitrim-Roscommon Web site shows several Price families in Killasser, including one with a 17-year-old Thomas, who may be yours. You should also be able to find the civil record of Thomas's 1882 birth through the GRO, which would give his father's name and townland and should confirm whether this family is yours. Finally, the RC parish records are on LDS film 1279232, items 16 and 17. Diane Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. Re: [IRL-MAYO] Patrick RUSH, County Mayo and Liverpool.
    2. If Patrick was a tailor, there's a good chance he grew up in a town, rather than on a farm, in Co. Mayo. This is a long shot, but if I were you, I'd check the Griffith's index for Rushes who lived in towns and order the films for the corresponding RC parish records. Fortunately, the surname isn't terribly common. Patrick himself might not be listed because he wasn't a head of household at the time of Griffith's, but his father or an uncle or older brother might well be listed. Diane

I am trying to verify & document his story. I can summarize it for you when I get home (currently writing you from work). In 1861, all the children of Anthony Nash emigrated to the USA, except for Edward (there were 6 boys in all, I believe). Their mother, Ann, emigrated later and can be found living with my ancestor Patrick in Pittsburgh PA on the 1870 census. The disinheritance was due to Anthony converting to Catholicism, was done (presumably) by his father, at the encouragement of Anthony's sisters. Will write more later. - elizabeth Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have recently read that she had a brother (Anthony) and sister (Elizabeth Elinor), can this be confirmed, as I read in Burke's Peerage that Elizabeth was an only child. Was she a child from a second marriage (of her father Arthur Nash)and the other 2 children from a first, as there seems an age gap. Isabella was married in 1825 to Henry Middleton Short, a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy. I believe 3 of Anthony's sons emigrated to America in 1861. Did he keep in touch with his sister Isabella? Did Anthony's widowed wife and son Edward, keep in touch with Isabella? Also Anthony was disinheited from his land, did his father do that to him, if not who did? What was the maiden name of Isabella's mother? This information is no longer available as the records were lost in the 4 Courts fire in Dublin. When did Isabella's father die and how old was he? I would be grateful for any information on the above matters. Thankyou. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. We just got back from researching in Salt Lake. Sorry, I don't think we have a connection even though our ancestors were in Mercer Co., Pa. Thanks for contacting me. Yes, Paso Robles is growing quickly with regard to the wine industry. They are calling it the second Napa. It's a great place to visit. We were just north of Cincinatti several years ago researching ancestors that settled in SE Indiana and SW Ohio. We have actually covered lots of Ohio Territory in our ancestry searches. 2. Bernadette- ?? Sadly, Dick (Richard) Ferguson of Phila, Pa. passed away over a year ago. I will forward your information to his daughter, Gigi. Not sure how much family genealogy she is researching though. I have a copy of his Mullen/Ferguson info. If I can e-mail it to you directly, that would be great. We have "Crean" in our tree also from County Mayo. I think in Bofield/Ballina. I am CCing this to my cousin Pauline in England. She might be able to assist more with the Crean side of the family.?
