Marriages and baptisms after 1863 can be checked through the General Registry Office (www.groireland.ie). For earlier marriages and baptisms you need to rely on church records. Derryfadda townland is in Tagheen civil parish, Crossboyne and Taugheen RC parish, which is on LDS film 1279211, items 5-8 (baptisms 1825-1913, marriages 1791-1876). Bofeenaun townland is in Addergoole civil parish, Lahardane RC parish, on LDS film 1279205, items 9-11 (baptisms and marriages 1840-1880). The two parishes don't adjoin each other, but they presumably married in the bride's parish. Diane Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. However, I did find a birth for Isabella Ann Shortt born 9 Oct 1870 in the Civil Registrations CD from the Latter Day Saints, you could also try their free website at www.familysearch.org The births of Thomas Short 1814, Thomas 1826, Mary 1826 Michael 1886. These records are at the family history center in Mayo. I found no marriage for Isabella Nash to Henry Middleton Short, but did find two death records: Henry M. Short Rn. d 1844 Co. Mayo and Isabella Short d 1873, Co. Mayo, these are available for a fee on-line if you wish to contact me I will give you the website which I cannot do on rootsweb message board due to their policies. Knowing the years you maybe able get them at the General Registry Office in Dublin, but I believe there is a fee also. codeannette@yahoo.ca Annette Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If I find a house I missed I may take you up on that :) We just drove up from Phila area last week and took some pictures of the town and cemetery. My photos can be viewed at the link at the bottom or email me :) In 1870 Census in Silver Lake, Schuylkill Co Pa. There was a James b 1832 & Bridget b 1840 Coyle family that immigrated by 1857 when the first child was born in PA. Also on the same page is Patrick 1835 & Mary 1842 Flaherty who immigrated abt the same time their first child Mary was born here in 1858. My Mary Coyle who married Ed Flaherty had 2 children in Ire then immigrated abt 1872. When they did show up in the 1880 census Patrick,Mary and children moved to Shenandoah, PA some time before 1880 b/c this is where they show up next with my GGRParents in the same town. Makes me think these James Coyle and or Patrick Flaherty were siblings/cousins to end up in such close proximity to each other in Silver Lake then Patrick & Ed Flaherty both in the 1880 census in Shenandoah, seems more than a coidence but can't connect the dots. There is a Catholic church and graveyard "Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary" in Shenandoah Heights overlooking the town. The names you quote in your entry do not look familiar. However, Patrick had a brother, James, who stayed behind and fathered descendants who live in Ireland to this very day. James married a woman (unknown) and had a daugher Mary. She married a man named Patrick Lally. They had 5 children: Patrick, James, Theresa, Bridget, and Mary. Theresa married Christopher Doran. Bridget married Edmund Devlin and had 4 children: Nigel, John, Edmund, Thomas. Thomas married Fiona McGarry. Mary Lally married Kevin Gannon and had 4 children: Majella, Maureen, Sioban, and Teresa. Do any of these sound familiar to anyone? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: DianeCulhane Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.may.general/7889.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: If you have birth years for Maria and Honoria, you could look for them in the Irish civil birth indexes, which have been filmed by the LDS. The births were most likely in the Claremorris or Swineford registration district. The civil registration will give you their parish, which you could then use to get the baptisms. The Griffith's index suggests they lived in Bekan or Aghamore civil (and RC) parishes, since those are the border parishes where the Waldron name was most common. Unfortunately, Bekan has not been filmed by the LDS; you'd have to go through the National Library or the South Mayo Center. Aghamore is on LDS film 1279206, items 13-15, for years 1864-1921. As to the marriage of James and Rose, the Griffith's index shows most McCormacks in the border area living in Tibohine civil parish, which is Loughglynn RC parish, on LDS film 0989753, items 1-3, for years 1817-40 and 1849-80.
