MacLysaght says Irving the Scottish form of Irvine, but none of those in Mayo either. However, another related name, Irwin, can be found in Mayo. I'll go to the local LDS library tomorrow and order the film numbers you provided me on Lavin and Sullivan. I have one more person to locate: my grandfather Sullivan's wife.........Mary Ann Brewer. I was told she was born about January 1876 in or near Wexford, Ireland. Her father's first name was Samuel. I'm new to this type of research. Both sides of my family.......parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts have passed away. Thanks again Ken Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. What little I know is that he came to the US with his father, 4 brothers and a sister. His father Daniel was married to Brigid, but I have no mention of her in the US. Daniel appears to have been born about 1798. I first found him in the census records for 1850 in Rosecranz,Illinois living with his son John. He was also listed in the 1860 census for the same location. I don't find him after that. I also found him listed in a baptismal record for two of his grandsons at St. James parish in Kenosha Wis. Lastly, the LDS has a probate record for his daughter Elizabeth. She lived for many years with her brother Cornelius in Detroit, Mi. Her probate record lists most of her neices and nephews and where they lived at the time. I wish I had more, but I haven't found immigration records yet. By the way, I'm descended from Daniels son Jacob. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Kieth, There is a townland named Glenulra in the PLU of Killala and the Civil Parish of Doonfeeny. This townland is 2164 acres. Also another townland named Glenora in the same PLU and civil Parish but is only 781 acres. If you go to ww.seanruad.com you will find 42 townlands in Mayo that begin with Glen___. But my guess that Glenulra is what you are looking for. US census records are showing they are from Meath. Here's what I have going in reverse: Kate Malone (b. abt 1867 in Meath) m Dyson Sharp (b. July 1865) They lived for years @ Mile End Old Town, Essex, England. On these census records it shows Kate's mother Catherine living with them as a widowed mother-in-law. Her info is b. abt 1841 in Meath as well. I don't have any info on Catherine's husband or her maiden name. I am feeling like I am hitting my head against a wall with this dead end. Dyson Sharp was a London Constable, but that's about all the info I have for any of this side. Any help where I don't have to keep paying loads more into this would be great! I have already dropped tons of cash and just can't keep going down dead ends for so much money. Please help if anyone knows anything. Thanks a ton!
