Mine were from Reask, Parish Bekan in Mayo with Michael Austin PRENDERGAST marrying Mary KEARNS. Maybe that can give you a starting point. Try the site http://eastmayo.org/ They have some records indexed for Bekan. Also if you search on Internment.net for cemetery records in the Mayo area you'll see a number of burials listed for Prendergasts. I think New Cemetery in Ballindine was one and also Bekan Cemetery. Its records for the years 1860-81 are on LDS film 1279205, items 17-18. Those years are too late for Bryan and Patrick, but might show other children of Thomas and Bridget. On the same film, items 13-15, are the Belmullet RC records for the years 1842-80. Might be worth looking at those, too. Bridget might have come from Belmullet, which is right next to Kilmore, in which case she and Thomas would have married there. (Maguire/McQuire).Immigrated abt 1848 to Swalwell, Durham. Anne McCabe b. abt c. 1830 Ireland. Married Miles McGuire b. abt 1828 Mayo, Ireland. Immigrated to Whickham, Durham. He named his farm the "Belmullet" farm, which leads me to believe he was born in the Belmullet area. Our family followed the practice of naming the oldest son after the father's father. Thomas' oldest son was named Bryan (born 1853 in Ireland). Hence, Bryan's oldest son was named Thomas. I found an entry in Griffiths Valuation for Bryan Dean as follows: Surname: DEAN First Name: BRYAN Townland: TERMON Parish: KILMORE County: MAYO I am trying to find information of this DEAN family and possibly documentation to confirm it. Thomas married a Bridget Monaghan in Ireland. They had 2 children Bryan 1853 and Patrick 1855. Can anyone connect with this or give me a hint of how to confirm it? thanks Pat (Dean) Casey Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. They are my great grandparents. Here is what I do know: JOHN BROWNE was the son of JOHN BROWNE (D: 1880) and BRIDGET NALLY (-EY?). He had two sisters of whom I know: CATHERINE "KATE" BROWNE who emigrated to America (St. Louis, Mo) and died there in 1935; and BRIDGET BROWNE, who also went to America (St. Louis, Mo. and Los Angeles, California. I don't know if there are additional siblings. My great grandmother MARY NALLEY BROWNE was the daughter of JAMES NALLEY and MARY PEMRICK. I'm certain she must have had brothers and sisters, but I have no names. I have no information on their townland name. My grandmother MARY BROWNE Kearney had cousins with the following surnames: NALLY, NALLEY, CONNELLY, CURRY, MANLEY. I have no idea how all the pieces fit together. JOHN BROWNE died in CAHERDUFF on March 25, 1953. I do not know when MARY NALLY BROWNE DIED. God bless anyone who can help me make sense of all this.
