    2. You can get the civil registrations of the children's births through the Irish Family History Foundation (5 euros for each transcription) or the GRO (4 euros for each photocopy of the actual registrations if you provide the volume and page numbers, which you can get from the familysearch pilot site). Finally, you can also rent the films showing the registrations from the LDS for $5.50 each. Diane

    2. James b 2oct1864 John martin b3 nov1866 Michael dominic 27sep1868 Thadeus 24jan 1871 Carolina 17may1873 Bridget 15mar1876 Honor catherine 28jun1878 James' birth was registered in Newport Mayo. The next 4 were registered in Killala Mayo. Bridget -don't know Honor registered in Sligo. As an RIC man Patrick could not work in the county of his birth, so he was not born in Mayo. If he was born in Sligo, he would not normally be allowed to work there. It may be that his wife had the baby Honor at the family home in Sligo, whilst he was stationed in barracks in Mayo. This was common practice, and that birth cert will give both addresses, if that was the case. Or he may have been from a different county altogether. There were 6 Patrick Wynnes serving in the RIC. If he transferred to the RIC in 1857, then his service number was probably 22053 You can see his service record on LDS film no.0856063, assuming I have the correct service number. This will give his age, birth county (and that of his wife) and a list of counties where he was stationed. Cathy

I spoke with your brother, Marty, several years ago when he was living in Chicago. I did stumble across death notice for your brother James and Hugh's wife, Julie by doing Google searches on Corley Ballintubber. I did get your brother's names from Marty. But I didn't know that your father's sister died young. I found your father and his sister living staying with a Walsh uncle at the time of the 1911 Census. I am now of the believe that our great grandmother's first name was Elizabeth. It appears from all the documents and information that I have been able to gather that Patrick Corley and Mary Walsh followed what is known as the Irish Naming Convention in naming their children. One bit of information that was on the report from the Genealogical Centre that on Christmas Day in (I think) 1837 there was a bit of a to do in the Corley's Pub involving a Horan and Keveaney. The owners were Ned and Betty Corley. The Ellen KIlcoyne that married our great great uncle, James, in Cleveland Ohio was also from Ballintubber. Thanks so much for the information. I do have some information on the our Walshes that came to Cleveland if you or anyone in the family is interested. Best Wishes from one Corley branch to another. 3. Hello Listers, I'm hoping some one on the list can help me with information and advice. I am researching my ancestor James Feiney bn approx 1826 somewhre in Ireland ! James migrated to Whitby in Yorkshire in around 1845 where in 1847 he married Elizabeth Dillon bn Sligo. James and Elizabeth  then migrated to South Africa for a short period and then on to New Zealand where they settled with their family. James died in 1872 in Thames NZ as a result of a mining accident. Until recently we have had no clues to James's birthplace but have now discovered a newspaper report about his death where his wifw is quoted as saying that he was "a native of Castlemain, County Mayo" I have been unable to find a Castlemain in Mayo ! Can anyone on the list enlighten me ? Does anyone have any information on Feiney's in Mayo ? All the best Julie Christchurch New Zealand
