Even though your immediate family left Ireland between 1841-1851 , usually several family members remained in Ireland. The Griffith's Valuation is helpful in locating other family members and also the 1901 Census is very helpful. When I read the spelling of your name I immediately thought of the County Mayo name of Rochford. Checking the 1901 Census all the Rochfords are listed as such but there are three that have a variation of the name Rotchford which would be your variation with a slight change. All Rotchfords were located in the Parish of Ballynahaglish, Baron of Tirawley. John Rochford/Rotchford, 34 - Townland of Corraveggan West Jane Rochford/Rotchford, 80 - Townland of Corraveggan West John Rochford/Rotchford, 63- Townland of Knockmore http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/1901census/ 1901 Census - a fantastic and very helpful site created by Roger McDonnell Ratchford is the County Wexford version of Rochford. If you do not know the location of your family I would start with the townlands where the three Rochford/Rotchfords are found in the 1901 Census. My problem is that I don't know the names of Sarah's parents, or really anything other than her surname. I have her death record which gives no hints. The surname was passed down in another line of the family and the early church records for Kilvine don't exist. There was a John Tracy in Ballintober which is a ways from Kilvine, so I'm not sure it's the same family. Regards, Donna Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Bellagelly, Bangor Mayo, in 1868. Her Mom was Mary Ruane/Rowan born in Mayo around 1830-1840, her Dad John McDonnell. One of Sabina's her sister -in- laws was Mary Munley Conway born 1859 in Mayo.(from somewhere in NW Mayo most likely Kilcommon, Erris Belmullet region) Mary Munley Conway came with her parents Katie Deane and Anthony Munley along with her sibs Anthony, and Patrick in 1864 to Lost Creek, PA. Mary Munley Conway married John Conway in 1884 in PA. John and his family were also from NW Mayo(close to if not Belmullet) and my Grandmother was fairly certain that the Conways and Munleys knew one another in NW Mayo having been raised in part by her Aunt Mary. John Conway died before 1900 leaving Mary with two young sons. I suspect that John Conway had sibs and one could have been named Sabina. I never really looked to see. If I recall the Conways were related to McIntyres also from NW Mayo. My PGM said that almost all the associated families of Lost Creek, PA traced back to NW Ireland and that they were very intertwined and the documents I have found to date support this. So although I don't to date have another Sabina(than the McDonnell) I fully anticipate finding one hiding somewhere(most likely John or Mary Ruane had a sib named that or a parent) Be glad to help anyway I can. Good Luck, Maryann Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
