My mother has spent the past couple of years doing lots of reseach (mostly in Sunderland area) to pull historical records to validate our families stories. I picked this up recently, trying to piece together the family tree. I was pleased to come across your communication on rootsweb.com which has shed more light onto the Gibbions side of the family, we had got as far back as Patrick Gibbons and Margaret Kerrigan on that side of the family. I would love to get in contact and see if we can swap information. Regards Bev Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. She married Donall O'Flaherty who died in 1560. They had three children together: 2 sons, Owen Thomas, and Morogh and 1 daughter, Margaret. Owen married Catherine Burke and had 1 son. I'm not sure of the name of the son. Margaret married Joseph O'Sullivan (I believe) and had 1 son by the name of Joseph O'Sullivan Jr. I believe Morogh never married and was murdered during a war. Hope this helps! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Is this the same Michael? I do not seem to be able to get to thread by clicking on link. Michael O'Malley married Mary Gaughan in the Catholic chapel at Belmullet on 14 April 1878; they are my maternal grandparents. They lived with their 7 children on Davis St., Belmullet in 1901 and some of the O'Malley family continued in the Belmullet area up through 1950. Michael's father was John O'Malley and they might have lived at Faulmore. Mary's father was Pat Gaughan. If you know anything at all about this family I would appreciate hearing from you. I am also searching O'Malleys from Co. Mayo who left from Blacksod Bay in June 1884 on the SS Prussian. Patrick Joseph O'Malley born 1842,son of Anthony & Ann (Gaughan) O'Malley, married Mary E. Walsh (circa 1866) , daughter of Peter & Jane (Barrett) Walsh born unknown date> Someone suggested that Patrick and Joseph were from Carne Belmullet? If anyone can help me find their parents or siblings, please contact me. > > Today's Topics: > > 1. Killedan baptisms don't start until 1860 but marriages have been filmed back to 1834, so if John and Margaret married in Killedan, you may be able to find a record. Not all records from all parishes have been posted to this site, but you might get the filmed records and see what given names ran in the four families, see if some match up with yours. Keep in mind that parents often named their first children after their own parents. Diane Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
