There are 441. Only did a few pages of the index but using the criteria of wife Ann/Anna, and PA, found one who applied & expired in 1905 and another in 1890. Another John SHERIDAN's pension was requested by a mother Mary. He too, expired in 1890. Do you have a date of death for him? Do any of the above sound as if it could be him. If so, I could send you the index data to apply for a copy of penion application. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. That's where their children were baptised. I have children (but of course Murray children) starting with Thaddeus Murray December 1840 and ending so far with Anna Murray 1861. The family lived in Knockfarnaught near Lahardane to start with, but mostly in Doonaroya. (What wonderful place names!) Anna and brother Patrick emigrated to Pennsylvania: Anna married in Warren City, Warren County. Both died in the 1930s in Kane, McLean County. Do you have anything further on the Timlin family to which Honor belonged? Any hints appreciated! Thank you - Maggie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [IRL-MAYO] Place name help - Leaheriven
    2. Kim McGowan
    3. I admittedly don't know much about Mayo geography and townlands so I immediately went to www.seanruad.com to see if anything came up.  It's a bit of a stretch but how about "Lenarevagh" in Mayo?  While nothing comes up when checking Leaheriven on the seanruad.com site, you might want to play around with the spelling a bit and see if you can locate a townland that sounds like Leaheriven.  Hope this helps a bit. Kim ________________________________ Date: Sun, 05 Feb 2012 18:06:24 -0000 From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Subject: [IRL-MAYO] Place name help -- Leaheriven Hello, I recently found my great great grandparents marriage record -- Civil, County Mayo, Ballinrobe; 12 Feb 1877. John Curran to Catherine Walsh. I knew my great-grandfather's family (Curran) came from Cloongowla, Ballinrobe. However, the marriage record gave me a new piece of information. Catherine Walsh's address is listed as Leaheriven. I have never heard of this place name and apparently, neither has google. Anybody have any advice or information? Thanks!

Through the years following the War, even into the 20th century, widows & vets applied for pensions. The long form of the the pension application is full of data re: the vet. I would suggest you get it. I know the 3 we have from my husband's grandfather & great uncles are very imformative. Can't recall where we applied & received them but check with the National Archives, they have a web site. I am NOT referncing the index card one finds on Ancestry, it is a 4 page or more document. The index just gives you the data to use to apply for it. Mary Ellen Chambers Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
