Go to the National Archives site and you'll see Martin, Thomas, and Mary still in Cushlecka in 1911. I'd also suggest you post to Web sites and message boards that allow you to list your interests--in your case, something like: Looking for fellow descendants of Thomas and Mary (O)Malley, who lived in Cushlecka, Burrishoole, in 1901. Possible sites include Cousins Connect and Distant Cousins. Also post to O'Malley/Malley boards and lists. Over the years you'll get lots of responses. Enjoy! Griffith's, done in 1857, shows a John Malley there, perhaps a grandfather. (The O' before Irish names went in and out of fashion.) I couldn't find the civil registration of Martin's death, but you could look for his baptism on LDS film 1279207, items 9-11 or on rootsireland.ie (be sure to specify Burrishoole parish). I found a likely looking Malley family in Cushlecka, with a Martin of the right age, elderly parents, probably yours-- http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Mayo/Corraun_Achill/Cushlecka/1603458/ Click on Household return and you'll see the actual image. 1. [IRL-MAYO] FLAHERTY in Mayo
    2. Dennis Murphy
    3. My family lore has it that "twin Flaherty sisters married twin Murphy brothers" in Cleveland, Ohio. While I cannot prove or confirm the twin aspect, they were indeed siblings. According to a once living relative, the Flaherty gals were from Mayo, though she had no idea of the homeland area. My research puts the known family structure something like this: FATHER: Michael Flaherty, born 1821-1827 (estimated), died after 1852 (place unknown) MOTHER: Mary O'Malley. born 1823-1829 (estimated). died after 1852 (place unknown) Daughter: Bridget Flaherty, born abt. 1845 in Mayo, Ire., died 1891 in Cleveland, Ohio, m. James Murphy in Ohio Daughter: Mary Flaherty, born abt 1845 in Mayo, Ire., died 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio, m. Martin Murphy in Ohio Son: John Flaherty, born abt, 1850 in Mayo, Ire., died after 1867 somewhere in USA, marriage unknown Daughter: Margaret Flaherty, born abt 1852 in Mayo, Ire., died 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio, m. John Kelly My research gives me this so far; listers please check my work and advise of errors or omissions. Michael Flaherty in Griffith's Valuations: Flaherty Michael Carrowbeg Islandeady Mayo Flaherty Michael Culnacleha Annagh Mayo Flaherty Michael Caher Aghamore Mayo Flaherty Michael Derrynaned Aghamore Mayo Flaherty Michael Carrowmore Ballinrobe Mayo O'Flaherty Michael Crossmolina Crossmolina Mayo So far the Michael Flaherty at Carrowmore, Ballinrobe, Mayo seems the most promising with Crossmolina, Mayo running a close second. If anyone on this list is researching the FLAHERTY or KELLY lines from those areas, please contact me. Any other tips, tricks or tidbits would be warmly welcomed. Dennis
