As far as I can tell, they had 7 children born in Ireland. The children were John, Bridget, Catherine, Mary, Thomas, Michael and Julia all born between 1846 - 1863. All of the children and the mother Catherine came to Milford, Mass in the 1870's or 1880's. Thomas returned to Ireland but the others stayed here. I can find no information on them in Ireland but have a ton from the US. Any help on locating them in Ireland's records would be great. According to my Grandmother's records, they may have been from County Mayo. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. For those trying to decide whether to subscribe to findmypast for the petty sessions court records now or wait until more come on line, if you search the familysearch catalog for "court records" and your county of interest, you'll get a list of all the FHL filmed records by court and years filmed. Then you'll know how much is still to come on line in your areas of interest. Diane
Sorry for being unclear, John McNally and Margaret Gibbons were married, probably around 1845. Margeret's parents were Thomas Gibbons & Jennie (Mary Jane?) Connolly. No luck on their marriage at rootsireland.ie - couldn't find any John McNally's marrying any Gibbons. Unfortuantely, the names John McNally, Margaret Gibbons, Thomas Gibbons, Jennie Connolly are also pretty common. John & Margaret had emigrated to the US prior to 1852, so Griffiths doesn't help either. Open to other suggestions .... thanks as always! Try searching for their marriage on rootsireland.ie. It's free to search the index, and you can gradually narrow the time frame. If you get matching hits for John (or Thomas, your message uses both names) and Margaret, then 5 euros to view a transcript of the record. Diane

Hi all, I am a bit stuck on this one. I am looking for marriage information for John McNally and Margaret Gibbons (born about 1824). Margaret's parents were Thomas Gibbons and her mother was Jennie Connolly (baptism name could be Mary Jane as all Jennie's in this line were Mary Jane on their baptisms). Thomas McNally and Margaret Gibbons McNally had the following children: Bridget b 1846-ish, Ireland Mary Jane b. 1850-ish Ireland Ellen b. 1852 Pennsylvania As the family settled in Scranton, and much of the Irish immigration at that time was from Mayo, and Thomas & Margaret's children married other Irish emigrants from Mayo, I figure it is a good place to start. I did some searching to see what parishes have all 3 names (both in Tithes and Griffiths) and it seems like all three surnames are fairly common. One additional clue that I have is that Ellen McNally listed her parents as English speakers from Ireland on the 1900 census; while her husband, Thomas Loughney (from Kilfian Parish, Mayo) listed his parents as Irish speakers from Ireland. Any suggestions on where to turn? note: I made the following search on Google: "Mc Nally" & "Connolly" & "Gibbons" & "mayo" site:www.failteromhat.com as a way to find which parishes those name show up. I have some other good google search tricks, if anyone needs them. thanks, John

Their eldest child Ann Elizabeth was born in Pennsylvania in abt 1855. In 1869 or 1870 the family moved to Wright County, Minnesota. They had a total of seven children, the first six in Pennsylvania and the last in Minnesota. I have not found an immigration record. Their gravestone lists Louisburgh as his birthplace.
