Hello all My G-G-Grandmother was ANN NOLAN, who according to various census details was born in Longford circa 1832. I've just found Ann's marriage certificate in Aston, near Birmingham, England in 1854 and her father is listed as THOMAS NOLAN, a Carpenter. Neither Ann or Thomas have been located on the English census of Birmingham in 1851. Ann and EDWARD BURKE, her Husband to be, who was born in Dublin circa 1827 were apparently born in St Thomas's Church, Aston, which was a Catholic Church. As I know that 1. Ann was born in Longford circa 1832 2. There is a very good chance the family were Catholic 3. Ann's father was called Thomas and was (or at least had been) a Carpenter I wonder if there is any chance of a record of her birth being found, bearing in mind that I know this is approximately 30 years before civil registration began? Any information or advice about how to trace a record of Ann's birth would be extremely gratefully received, so I hope you will be able to help me. Regards Jon Burke
