Hi Paul, Yes, my grandmother was Mary Gertrude Creamer, born 1868 in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada. Her parents were William Creamer, born 1820 in Co. Longford, and Mary Tamlyn. She was known all her life as "Minnie." She was the last of 9 children, so I suspect they were running out of names, and picked up "Gertrude" from a slightly distant relative or in-law (or movie star). You're right, the name is a bit unusual and could give us some new clues. Stay in touch. Dave Myers At 06:09 AM 9/6/2004, you wrote: >Hi Dave, >I noticed the name Gertrude in your family.
