It's actually a townland with a convenient crossroads at its center. The crossroads is just 2 1/2 miles due north of Longford town, on the R 198 regional road heading north from Longford to Drumlish and Arvagh. The crossing east-west road connects Newtown Forbes to the west, through Cahanagh to the R 194 to the east, which continues on to Ballinalee and Granard. Cahanagh is shown on Discovery map 41, together with the 23 to 28 houses (5 houses close to the border with Lismoy townland) which were there in 1995 when the map survey was made. All of these Cahanagh buildings are right along the crossroads and the entire townland is only 163 acres.......so you'll be able to walk from house to house and make your inquiries (and have a spot of tea with each of the residents <gr>).
