I wanted to mention that we are finding a couple of names almost universally "misspelled" in the census pages. Different constables and some people filled out the forms themselves. So, as a hint for searching - Catherine is often spelled Cathrine. Margaret can be Margret. Those are the main two I wanted you to be aware of. Happy hunting, Christina
This solves a puzzle of ours! We have a MARGARET HESK who married the son of an Irishman in London and her name is spelt MARGRET sometimes - perhaps when her husband or father-in-law gave it! Their name was OLLARD but we've never found the Irish connection.... Go well!
